M.A.W. Hire Purchase Pvt. Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our” ) (hereinafter referred to as “M.A.W. Hire Purchase”) is a Nepal Rastra Bank-licensed hire purchase and non-banking financial company under the MAW Group of Companies. We finance two-wheelers, four-wheelers, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, commercial vehicles, and consumer electronics.
This policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect our customers’ personal information when customers visit our website, use our digital channels, apply for financing, or deal with us through our branches, dealers, and partners.
We handle personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements of Nepal, including the Privacy Act, 2075 (2018), applicable Nepal Rastra Bank requirements, and applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing requirements. 2. Information We Collect
- Identity and contact information: full name, date of birth, gender, citizenship or national ID number, valid driving license permanent and temporary address, phone number, email address, photographs, and specimen signature.
- Financial and credit information: occupation, employer details, income and bank statements, existing loans and liabilities, repayment history, guarantor and co-applicant details, and credit information obtained from licensed credit information bureaus.
- Collateral and product information: details of the vehicle, equipment, or device being financed, including registration, chassis and engine numbers, IMEI numbers, invoices, insurance, and ownership documents.
- Know Your Customer (KYC) documents: copies of citizenship certificate, passport, PAN or VAT registration, company registration documents, and other documents required by law.
- Transaction and account information: installment schedules, payments, outstanding balances, penalties, and communications about your account.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, cookies, and similar data collected when you use our website or digital platforms.
- Marketing and engagement information: preferences, survey responses, event participation details, and communications with our team or call centre.
3. How We Collect Information
- Directly from you, through application forms, branch visits, calls, emails, and our website
- From our authorised dealers, showrooms, and sales partners who assist with your application
- From credit information bureaus, government and regulatory bodies, and other lawful sources
- From guarantors, references, and employers you have named
- Automatically, through cookies and analytics tools on our digital platforms
We may verify information you provide against original documents, information held by authorised public bodies, credit information bureaus, or other lawful sources. Where you provide information about a guarantor, co-applicant, reference, or other person, you should ensure that the person is aware that their information may be used for the relevant financing and verification purposes.

We use your information to:
- Assess, process, approve, and disburse financing applications
- Verify identity and meet KYC and anti-money laundering requirements
- Evaluate creditworthiness and manage risk
- Manage your account, collect installments, and handle overdue payments
- Register, and enforce our security interest in financed assets
- Communicate with you about your account, payments, and service updates
- Improve our products, services, and customer experience
- Send you offers, and promotions, where you have not opted out
- Detect and prevent fraud and other unlawful activity
- Comply with laws, regulatory directives, audits, and legal proceedings
5. Legal Basis
We process personal information where necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a financing agreement, perform or administer that agreement, comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations, or pursue legitimate business interests that do not override your rights. We rely on consent where consent is required or where we choose to seek it, including for certain marketing communications.
You may withdraw consent for consent-based processing at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and it does not prevent processing that is otherwise required or permitted by law or necessary to perform your agreement with us.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only as follows:
- Credit information bureaus: we report and obtain credit data as required by law.
- Regulators and authorities: Nepal Rastra Bank, tax authorities, courts, law enforcement, and other bodies where legally required.
- Dealers and partners: limited information needed to complete your purchase and financing.
- Service providers: collection agencies, legal advisors, auditors, insurers, valuers, IT and cloud providers, and marketing agencies, who act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality.
- MAW Group companies: where necessary for service delivery, internal administration, or compliance.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or assignment of receivables, subject to confidentiality.
- Guarantors and co-applicants: information relevant to their obligations under your financing.
7. Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, secure storage, staff confidentiality obligations, and periodic reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your own documents, passwords, and OTPs, and never share them with anyone claiming to represent MHPL.
If we become aware of a personal-information incident, we will assess and respond to it under our incident-management procedures and take reasonable steps to contain, investigate, and address it. We will make any notifications to affected individuals or authorities that are required by applicable law or regulatory direction.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, and afterwards for the period required by Nepalese law, regulatory directives, and our legitimate need to resolve disputes and enforce agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it securely.

Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
